*Understanding self-talk*
Take a minute and think about your today’s inner discussion, what you talked to yourself? It was destructive or beneficial? It was positive or negative?
Conversations you have with yourself can influence how you feel about yourself and how you respond to events in your life.
Ultimately it can impact your life.
What is self-talk?
Self-talk is something you do naturally throughout your waking hours. Positive self-talk is a powerful tool for increasing your self-confidence and curbing negative emotions. People who can master positive self-talk are thought to be more confident, motivated, and productive.
Consider the following two inner statements:
- “I’m going to speak up in the home meeting today and I will impact many lives, because I am good in showing plan.” This sounds positive.
- “I don’t think I will speak up in home meeting today because I’ll look foolish if I say the wrong thing. I am not good in plan showing.” Contrast this sounds negative.
Now guess, who will perform good..?? Your inner statement impacts your performance & ultimately the results.
Self-talk is important in many ways. It’s the script that we use to frame our lives. We give positive commands to our subconscious mind and subsequently we get positive results.
